Funded by the Geneva Water Hub Science-Policy Incubator Grant on Water Diplomacy, I organized a one-day workshop with expert scholars and policy-makers on how emotions and gender shape water stewardship and diplomacy. Expanding on my doctoral research on how fear in water crisis messaging influences environmental outcomes and gender bias in water management, we created a communications handbook and policy brief to explain how other emotions (e.g., awe, empathy, anger, hope, disgust) and gender influence water stewardship and diplomacy. We also created a summary figure to illustrate this process, below.
